Daniel Colalillo is a NYC-based concert pianist celebrated for bold programming and expressive, intellectually driven performances. The New York Classical Review praised him as “a marvelous performance… a musician who had something to say.” He recently made his sold-out Carnegie Hall debut, performing the world premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s Piano Sonata No. 4, written for him by the composer. His performances have taken him to Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Steinway Hall, as well as cities nationwide and abroad. As a concerto soloist and recitalist, Colalillo has performed a wide range of repertoire, and his album Mostly Scriabin received wide acclaim. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Classical Keys concert series, now in its sixth season.

Daniel Colalillo is a New York City-based pianist recognized for his bold programming and expressive, intellectually driven performances. Colalillo's performances have also been recognized by TheNew York Times and Nashville Scene.
Colalillo recently made his sold-out Carnegie Hall solo debut, entitled Sonatas Through the Ages. His program featured the world premiere of Lowell Liebermann's Piano Sonata No. 4, a work written for him, further establishing Colalillo as a compelling voice in both standard and contemporary repertoire.
He has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Steinway Hall, and at institutions such as Princeton University, Columbia University, and MIT. His performances have taken him to cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Toronto, and Montreal.
As a concerto soloist, Colalillo performed Beethoven’s Piano Concertos Nos. 3 and 4 in the 2025 season; other concerto performances have included Tchaikovsky and Gershwin. His album, Mostly Scriabin, has been widely praised.
He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Classical Keys, a concert series now in its 6th season in New Jersey and New York City, presenting leading chamber musicians from the New York Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera. Colalillo’s solo recitals combine masterworks and contemporary music and curates imaginative programs such as the Pandemic Piano Preludes which paired newly commissioned works with classical preludes.
A dedicated educator, Daniel has taught masterclasses at universities such as Belmont University and NYU. He serves on the Council Board of Groupmuse. Colalillo is on the piano faculty of Concordia Conservatory and The 92nd Street Y, and maintains a private studio. He was named a Top Piano Teacher by Steinway & Sons. Colalillo holds a Master of Music from the Mannes School of Music and began piano at the late age of 15, quickly rising to prominence.
